Mr P.Mahadevan, Mphil (Psychology), is the founder director of MAHA MEMORY ACADEMY. He has spent a lifetime in the pursuit of private research in the fields of learning and teaching. Trained 85 students in Pune, in 2007, to create a memory world record and enter the GUINNESS and LIMCA books of world record. In april 2013, he created another memory world record with 611 students in a rural Tamilnadu school.
He has nearly 30 years experience in the field of training, motivating, skill building and empowering people. The enormous study and deep research has resulted in the evolution and creation of simplified learning systems as well as revolutionary teaching concepts.
Obstacles and bottlenecks, standing in the way of understanding of subjects such as PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, MATHS, BIOLOGY, ACCOUNTANCY, ECONOMICS, HISTORY, SOCIAL SCIENCES and LANGUAGE LEARNING have been identified and effective solutions have been evolved.
Mr Mahadevan, has travelled widely and is an acknowledged world class trainer, dedicated to the development and progress of the school and college environment.
Mr M.P.Siddharth MBA is the other director. He is a world record holder in memory. He has nearly 7 years corporate experience in various positions in TITAN, MAHINDRA GROUP etc.
Mr.Siddharth is an extra ordinary trainer and specialist in memory skills and learning systems. He has effectively trained and created a team of dedicated trainers.
3 decades of research has given us a rare insight into the problems faced in the learning process. One of the main problems is the rote way of learning (learning by heart). Small children when they are too young to understand, use this method, of repetition to keep in mind. Unfortunately, they become habituated to this system, and continue through life even upto higher education.
It is a bitter truth, that a large percentage of teachers are also followers of this method.
We conducted a private survey, where private higher secondary students were asked their career options. MEDICAL, ENGINEERING, SCIENTIST, MBA, CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT, LAW, IAS, IPS etc were the options. There were no takers for the teaching profession. This study was extended to a few Govt. Schools and the result was that, some students, especially from vernacular medium, were the ones who were choosing teaching as a profession, because of lack of support for other more exciting options.
These teacher aspirants, because of their discomfort with English language, struggle through their graduation and post graduation with learning by heart as their only weapon. When they ultimately become teachers they simply teach the students the same methods and the students get trapped into this method. This combined with an unrealistic and impractical cyclic examination ritual is what is called teaching in many reputed schools. In two days, even toppers confess that they forget most of what they studied. 1 or 2 % of the total students are able to cope with the pressure of this unscientific learning system, the others go through the suffering silently as they have no choice. Repeated testing leave the students numb. The only solution offered to students is to mug up more.
We have designed scientific systems of learning, which enables the students to understand the subject well, retain the subject in mind with minimum effort, and reproduce at will in such a manner that no key points are missing. Optimisation of time and effort are our major goals.
We have also designed creative memory systems which will enable students to process abstract concepts and convert them to more concrete and digestible forms. We offer workshops to train and empower students to become better students, teachers to become better teachers.
Special workshops are conducted for parents to create an awareness of the existence of exciting solutions for their children.
We have also special workshops for interview preparation and communication skills. A very high percentage of the nation’s graduates and post graduates have been found unfit for employment. An exciting training module enables participants to understand the nuances of PSYCHOMETRIC TESTING, GROUP DISCUSSION, PANEL INTERVIEWS, HR INTERVIEWS and NEGOTIATION SKILLS.
A very interesting teacher training module empowers teachers to better understand and appreciate their roles as mentors, and as a result positively transforms them.
